Easy Home Therapies

Oxygen Therapy: Make it routine to breathe deeply through your nose and deep into your abdomen. Take 10 long slow breaths in and out of your nose with the last exhale from your mouth. Use this affirmation with each breath.

“Every breath I inhale calms and nurtures me… Every breath I exhale frees my spirit.”

Morning is a great time for this exercise. Even more effective if you can add in a midday and evening session.

Sun Therapy: We all know how great it is to feels sunshine upon your face. It's warm and energetic, much like a welcomed hug or friendly smile. In warmer months, remind yourself to get outside and soak in a few minutes of healing sun each day. Just 15 minutes of sunshine per day (don't burn!) can ease viral symptoms, pain, and depression. In cooler months, simply find a sunny window to soak in the sunshine. Try sun therapy along with Oxygen therapy. The two together are a powerful healing combination.

Gentle Exercise: Gentle stretching or yoga. You can even do this lying on a bed. Try the PocketGym exercise program. Gentle 12 minute workouts which encourage detoxification and lymph flow. Very helpful for moving lymph and healing endocrine system. Rebounding is helpful as well.

Prayer and Meditation: See yourself healthy and healing. Make plans for the future. Cleanse negative energy. Connect to nature, sit outside (weather permitting). Practice the deep breathing exercise. Listen to bird song. Be kind to yourself. Forgive yourself. Put your past behind you, each day is a new beginning. Use this time to pray and connect with God.

Dry Brushing: Using a natural bristle brush, slowly brush on dry skin with upwards long sweeping strokes. Each stroke should be directed towards your heart. Starting on feet up the legs, then hands up the arms, torso, sides, and back.

Epsom Salt Bath: fill a tub with hot water and 1-2 cups Epsom salt. Soak for 20-30 minutes. Treat yourself 3 times a week or more. Also nice is to add a few drops of Lavender to the salts, and a couple tablespoons of sea salt.

Coconut Oil Therapy: After bath or shower, while skin is still wet, massage a liberal amount of unrefined coconut oil into skin. Really take time to massage your entire body and absorb the oil. This therapy aids in decreasing inflammation, and calms the CNS.

Essential Oil Therapy: (calming & nurturing) Lavender, Ylang Ylang, Neroli, Frankincense, Sweet Orange, Myrrh.
