The Truth About Angels

Should we Pray to the Angels?

It certainly is a heartwarming thought to imagine we are surrounded by Heavenly Angels who are here to grant our wishes us we desire. Many people share the belief that we were each born with a divine right to reach out to the Angels, whenever we need them. That they hear our prayers, and are waiting for us to contact them. It is claimed that the "secret" (to successful contact) is knowing which Angels to access and how to do so. But is this belief in reality a stretch of the real truth about Angels and could it even be a potentially dangerous practice?

Hi, this is Carolyn Cavanagh from Live Vibrantly and in this episode of The Inspired Journey, we will take a closer look at all of these questions, and more.....

First of all let's cover the most important question of all, are Angels real? According to the Bible and countless people who have personally witnessed Angelic intervention, the answer is  absolutely!

So let's take a step back for a moment and think about these statements. Could it be that we really do have all of this divine help at our fingertips all of this time, and never knew?

Could this practice be a mistake?

However, they do not intercede with humanity as a result of our prayers to them directly, they work by the command of God, and God only. Angels of pure light, never intercede with mankind on their own accord outside of God's Holy command.

The popular teaching of praying directly to Angels for help, should raise a red flag to anyone desiring to follow God. Not only is this practice un-Biblical, it can be dangerous territory
(stay tuned to part 2 of this series!)

Here is a great response to the question, should we pray to the Angels
written by John Stewart  - Blue Letter Bible.

"For there is one God, one mediator also between God and humanity, himself man, Christ Jesus" 1 Timothy 2:5.

Prayers should be directed at God and him alone. There is only one mediator, or go-between, between humanity and God - the Lord Jesus Christ. Angels, nor anyone else, can intercede for believers directly to God the father.

Only God can help.

Angels only serve to do the bidding of God. They cannot, in and of themselves, help us. Their power is derived from God. Whenever they come to the aid of believers, it is because of the direct command of God. Therefore it is worthless to call upon them to help us.

Never in scripture do we find any example of people praying to Angels. Angels are sent to do Gods bidding as an answer to prayer. There is only one way in which we can have access to God - through the person of Jesus Christ. Angels do not serve any function as mediators between God and humanity in that sense.

It is very important in this day and age that we can discern between God's True light, and deception that seems to be growing rapidly.

Much love in Christ,

" I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things. And when I had heard and seen them, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who had been showing them to me.  But he said to me, 'Don’t do that! I am a fellow servant with you and with your fellow prophets and with all who keep the words of this scroll. Worship God!' ”
